UCI Opens Against High Five America

UC Irvine opens its 1989-90 basketball season with an exhibition game against High Five America at 7:30 tonight in the Bren Center.
Rod Palmer is the leading scorer back from last season’s team. Palmer, a senior point guard, averaged 15.1 points for the Anteaters in 1988.
High Five America has a 5-2 record, including victories over Villanova and Wichita State. The losses were to Nevada Las Vegas, 114-79 on Sunday and to California, 102-90, on Monday.
