Pomona : Panel on Preventing Crime

Representatives of the Pomona Police Department, the Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol and the district attorney’s office will discuss crime prevention at a community meeting Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers next to Pomona City Hall.
State Sen. Ruben S. Ayala (D-Chino), who is sponsoring the meeting, will discuss actions that the state Legislature has taken to deal with crime. Law enforcement officials will offer advice on preventing home burglaries and auto thefts, overcoming drug and alcohol abuse, starting neighborhood watch programs, and discouraging gang activity.
