BRAINY: Smart kids (N1) sometimes grow up to join MENSA, which bills itself as “an international organization for highly intelligent people.” Orange County has 1,095 members. . . . The county’s smart capital is Huntington Beach, with 103 MENSA members, but Los Alamitos has the highest concentration, with 1.48 members per 1,000 residents. . . . Gifted children don’t always wait to grow up before they join the group; one Seal Beach member is all of 4 years old.
