HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL PLAYOFFS : Chatsworth Rallies Past Westchester

When the Chatsworth High girls’ volleyball team fell behind early against Westchester on Wednesday, the Chancellors looked like anything but the top-seeded team in the City Section 4-A Division playoffs.
Chatsworth trailed by six points in the first game before rallying for a 15-11, 15-8, 15-7, quarterfinal win at Chatsworth.
After trailing, 8-2, in the first game, the Chancellors scored the next nine points, three on kills by middle blocker Lori Mertes, who led the team with nine. Daisy Sudparid had six service aces.
Setter Kris Bassler had 27 assists for the Chancellors. Chatsworth plays El Camino Real on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Venice High.
