Playboy Enterprises Inc.: The media and marketing company that publishes Playboy magazine reported net income of $5 million for the first quarter of fiscal 1990, up from $445,000 in the same period of last year. The Chicago-based firm said its results included a $4.8-million pretax gain on the sale of a subsidiary. Revenue for the period was $39.3 million, up 5% from 1989.
