Sunny Hills Blows Past Buena Park to Finish Undefeated

BUENA PARK — With running backs Brian Pizula and Mike Sullivan leading the way, Sunny Hills High School defeated Buena Park, 35-12, Thursday to win the Freeway League title.
Sunny Hills (10-0 overall and 5-0 in league play) had clinched at least a tie for the title last Friday with a 40-0 victory over Sonora.
Sunny Hills is the top-ranked team in the Southern Section Division IV poll. This is the first time Sunny Hills has finished the regular season undefeated.
Pizula rushed for 124 yards in 16 carries and scored two touchdowns, setting a school record for touchdowns in a season with 19. He also set the career touchdown record with 27.
Sullivan also scored two touchdowns and ran for 101 yards in only five carries. The Lancers blew the game open in the first quarter with three touchdowns.
