BATON ROUGE, La. — Siran Stacy ran for 212 yards and three touchdowns Saturday night as fourth-ranked Alabama beat Louisiana State, 32-16, and clinched at least a tie for the Southeastern Conference championship.
The victory gave the Crimson Tide a share of its first conference title since 1981.
Alabama, 9-0 overall and 6-0 in the conference, can win the title outright and an automatic berth in the Sugar Bowl with a victory over Auburn in the Tide’s final SEC game Dec. 2.
Alabama, which has won 11 consecutive games, built a 27-3 lead against the Tigers (2-7 and 1-5). But LSU rallied on two touchdown passes from Tommy Hodson to Eddie Fuller in the final quarter.
