LA HABRA : Student Drivers Face Parking Restrictions
- Share via
A pilot program to discourage students at La Habra High School from parking on a nearby residental street will limit parking to permit-holders only.
Signs warning of the new restrictions will be posted on the south side of Highlander Avenue between Idaho and Monte Vista streets. The signs will warn that special permits are required for parking from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays.
The City Council approved an ordinance setting up a permit parking zone in response to complaints that high school students have been parking on the residential street, creating problems for homeowners.
Mayor William D. Mahoney described the new zone as an initial effort to solve what may be a more widespread problem.
The one-time fee for parking permits for residents will be $15.
