SMUGGLE: Besides catching Chinese immigrants (B1), agents at the San Clemente Border Patrol Checkpoint last year intercepted 54,491 Mexicans, 969 Salvadorans, 863 Guatemalans and several hundred more illegal aliens from Yugoslavia to Bangladesh. . . . They also seized nearly $18 million in guns, narcotics and merchandise that ranged from Mexican black clams to drunken parrots.
