A North Hollywood gang member was in critical condition today after being wounded in a drive-by shooting, Los Angeles police said.
Baldoman Hernandez, 18, was walking with four other young men in the 7200 block of Vineland Avenue at 9 p.m. Monday when a dark car sped by and shots were fired from its window, Sgt. George McCormick said. Only Hernandez was wounded. The car, with at least two people in it, sped away; no arrests were made.
Hernandez was being treated at Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills. Police said that he and the others with him at the time of the shooting are known by detectives as members of a North Hollywood gang.
