ORANGE : New Limits Set on Size of Signs
New limits on the size of commercial signs were imposed by the City Council this week.
The new ordinance reduces the maximum height for free-standing signs from 30 feet to 15 feet and the maximum size of signs on professional buildings from 30 to 24 square feet.
Signs on high-rise buildings will be limited depending on their placement. For example, signs at the second story may be three feet high and those at the 20th story may be six feet.
The new ordinance, which imposes various other size restrictions, does not affect existing signs.
