A 29-year-old woman was killed early Tuesday when the car she was driving swerved into the center divider of Interstate 5 in Chula Vista and collided with a pickup, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Trinidad Prows was dead at the scene, Deputy Coroner David Lodge said. The accident occurred 1:05 a.m. about half a mile north of the E Street exit, he said.
Prows’ car apparently veered into the center divider and bounded back onto the southbound lanes of I-5, CHP spokesman Mike Collier said. The victim’s car was then struck in the rear by a pickup, he said. Prows was ejected from the vehicle, he said.
The driver of the pickup was not injured, Collier said.
