Police Tuesday identified a man Tuesday who staggered several blocks before dropping dead of a bullet wound Monday night.
The body of Robert Joseph Herrera, 23, of Placentia was found by officers in the 200 block of North Clementine Street. Witnesses told police that they heard gunshots but did not see the attack about 8 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of West Chartres Street. There was no motive or description of the shooter, police said.
It was the second fatal shooting in the area recently. On Nov. 7, the body of a 35-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the head in a car on the north side of Pearson Park, at Sycamore Street and Harbor Boulevard, Anaheim police said.
Since no weapon was found nearby, the latest case was being handled as a homicide. But police said they had no suspects or motives for the shooting.
