California IN BRIEF : SAN FRANCISCO : Agnos Promotes City After Quake

Mayor Art Agnos, declaring San Francisco to be “back on its feet” after the Oct. 17 earthquake, embarked on a four-day tour to help revitalize tourist and convention business. The mayor was accompanied by Chief Administrative Officer Rudy Nothenberg and John Marks, president of the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau. They planned to make stops in Chicago, New York and Washington.
