Goalie Fuhr Shuts Down Red Wings in 6-2 Win

DETROIT — Grant Fuhr stopped 25 shots and Joe Murphy and Petr Klima scored against their former teammates Monday night as the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Detroit Red Wings 6-2.
The Oilers, 5-1-1 in their last seven games, handed Detroit its 11th defeat in 16 games. Fuhr, who missed training camp and the early part of the season after an emergency appendectomy, improved his season record to 5-5-1.
