PLACENTIA : Council Will Select New Mayor Today

Mayor Pro Tem Norman Z. Eckenrode is expected to be chosen by the City Council today as the new mayor, according to Deputy City Clerk Maria Anderson.
Eckenrode, who served as mayor in 1981, served on the City Council from 1978 to 1984 before being elected to his present term in 1986.
A Placentia resident since 1971, Eckenrode has been involved with local groups including the Junior United Soccer Assn., Girl Scouts and Orange County Juvenile Committee.
