Alleged Heroin Kingpin Jailed in Hong Kong

HONG KONG — A laundry owner, alledged to be the kingpin of a drug syndicate that that had shipped heroin worth more than $1.7 billion to the United States, was in custody Friday pending extradition proceedings.
Law Kin-man, 34, is the seventh alleged member of the syndicate to be detained in the British colony. A prosecutor told magistrate’s court a formal extradition request was expected from the United States withing the next two months.
