Whittier : 6-Year-Old Girl Honored for Saving Brother’s Life

County Supervisor Pete Schabarum has presented a 6-year-old Whittier girl with an award of honor for saving the life of her 2-year-old brother.
On Aug. 17, Jennifer Quinones spotted her unconscious brother, Jason, floating in the back yard swimming pool. Without hesitation she jumped in and pulled him toward the ladder, raising him as high as she could to safety. Through the coordinated efforts of family and paramedics, Jason is alive today, Schabarum said.
