Gregory J. Runion, 24, of Huntington Beach was killed early Saturday after he apparently lost control of his van while getting off the San Diego Freeway southbound onto the Costa Mesa Freeway.
Runion was thrown from his Ford van after it ran off the freeway and flipped over several times about 5:30 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
He was not wearing a seat belt and probably would have survived had he been wearing one, a CHP spokesman said.
