Woman Critical After Reported Rape, Shooting

GARDEN GROVE — Police on Sunday were investigating the reported rape and shooting of a young Vietnamese woman who was attacked in a parking lot behind a local drugstore.
The woman, whose identity was withheld by police, was in critical condition at Humana Hospital in Westminster late Sunday night, a nursing supervisor said. She had been shot once in the head.
Police have no motive or suspects in the attack, which took place just after 5 p.m. behind a Thrifty’s drugstore at 13822 Brookhurst Street in Garden Grove. There were no apparent witnesses.
