OUT OF ACTION: The El Toro and Tustin military bases, home to more than 11,000 Marines, were strangely quiet as Army units (A4) went into Panama. . . . Do the Marines wish they were more involved? “There is a lot of professional pride in the Marines,” said one high-ranking Marine. “They are down because they think they could have done it better. But the decision was made to send the Army. So I would have to say let’s stop bitching and get on with it. Next time it could be the Marines.”
