BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Barnett Leads Dana Hills to 46-42 Victory

Keith Barnett had 13 points to lead Dana Hills High School to a 46-42 victory over Newport Harbor Friday in a championship semifinal of the Canyon tournament.
Jason Spizuoco had 10 points for Dana Hills (9-3), which will face Antioch in the final at 8 tonight.
Craig DeBusk and Paig Parish had 10 points each for Newport Harbor (9-3).
In other Canyon tournament games:
Esperanza 76, Valencia 64--Joe Foss had 32 points and Walter Forocatto had 21 points to lead Esperanza.
Canyon 64, Anaheim 56--Abdi Barkholder had 18 points and Eric Oliver had 16 to lead Canyon in a consolation game.
In the Las Vegas Eldorado tournament:
Kingman (Ariz.) 55, La Quinta 47--La Quinta fell to 0-8. Paul Hastings had 11 points, Wes Kollar had 10 points and Justin Sogoian had eight points and 11 rebounds.
Woodbridge 76, Las Vegas 56--Bryant McLemore scored 19 points and Ryan Rauch scored 11 as Woodbridge (8-5) won the fifth-place game. Sophomore guard Toby Ramos scored 14 for the Warriors.
In the Chino tournament:
University 73, Bonita 68--Forward Donnell Dowdy scored 27 points and point guard Bryan Smith added 23, including 11 in the fourth quarter, to pace University (4-6) in a semifinal game for fifth place.
Notre Dame Riverside 80, Fullerton 79--Fullerton led by as many as 19 points in the first quarter but Notre Dame rallied, making seven second-half three-point shots, including Chris McCowin’s 55-footer at the buzzer in the third quarter to tie the score. Fullerton’s Rene Arias, who led all scorers with 41 points, missed a three-point shot in the last seconds that would have tied the score and John Bailey got the rebound and scored as time ran out.
Savanna 54, Glendora 53--Savanna trailed by as many as 22 points in the third quarter before rallying in a fifth-place semifinal. Ben Smith made a steal and scored on a layup with 19 seconds left to seal the victory and cap a 13-1 Savanna run. Savanna (8-5) was led by Keith Rodriquez, who scored 14. Smith and Andy Trumpour each scored 12.
