WESTMINSTER — Police Wednesday asked for help in locating the owners of stolen property recovered last month during a search of a Westminster residence.
Investigators from Westminster, Costa Mesa and Orange police departments seized more than 50 items in a raid conducted Dec. 18. The items are believed to have been stolen from vehicles and garages throughout the county.
Among the recovered property were a portable radio that was stolen two months ago from a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department vehicle and a jet ski taken from a garage in Riverside last July. Owners of those items have been found.
Unclaimed items include an airless paint sprayer, a four-foot “boom box” amplifier and speaker system, several hand power tools, a stamp collection that came from the area of Lakewood, Ohio, a portable CB radio, several pneumatic tools, a new portable sewing machine and a pullout car stereo.
Police said much of the stolen property apparently went unreported, and as a result the department needs help finding the owners. Information about the property should be directed to Detective Dave Stronach at (714) 898-3311, Ext. 348, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
