Families in Irvine

What a delightful way to begin the next decade! I felt hopeful and encouraged as I read Lynn Smith’s article “Irvine Project Gives Families a Helping Hand” (Dec. 31).
It was a joy to see the smiling faces of Linda Bagwell and her daughters, who had been given help and support by For Families. Thanks to the city of Irvine, and people like Mayor Agran, Maureen Robbins, Marie Polhamus and the others, who are willing to walk their talk.
May the 1990s see the continuing expansion of their efforts as they work to help others improve “their coping skills.”
