Japan’s Vehicle Sales Up 12%: Japan’s domestic sales of four-wheel vehicles in 1989 climbed above 5 million units for the first time, recording the third consecutive annual rise, the Japan Automobile Dealers Assn. reported. The group said sales were up 11.9%. Sales of imported cars increased 35.2% over a year ago.
