MEMPHIS — Blues-rock star Bo Diddley has agreed to lend his name to a nightclub being planned as part of the renovation on historic Beale Street in Memphis, Tenn. Diddley also plans to play at the club occasionally, which will put him in competition with B. B. King. “I like the idea and I like the place,” Diddley said. “It’s down the street from where B. B. King is going to be.” King’s club on Beale Street will open this spring.
