Let me mention only two of many ways to save water: 1. Place water heaters near the point of use in home bathrooms and kitchens as Europeans do--millions of gallons of cold water are wasted each year as we impatiently wait for hot water to arrive from remote hot-water heaters. 2. Stop watering freeway landscapes in our semiarid climate. Plant vegetation that can survive in a semiarid climate. Think California!
