Woman Sought in Knife Slaying of Her Daughter, 9

CHICAGO — Police are seeking the mother of a 9-year-old girl whose body was found Thursday beneath a message scrawled in blood and signed “her mother.” Authorities said they found the child’s body in an abandoned South Side apartment building. The girl had been stabbed once in the chest.
