World IN BRIEF : ISRAEL : Weizman Disputed on Soviet Relations

Foreign Ministry sources said that Science Minister Ezer Weizman was mistaken when he announced in Moscow last week that the Soviet Union had agreed to upgrade diplomatic relations. Weizman made the remark after talks with Soviet Foreign Minister Eduard A. Shevardnadze in Moscow. But mission chief Arye Levine reported that Shevardnadze had said he was only thinking of putting some order into relations with Israel. Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir and Foreign Minister Moshe Arens rebuked Weizman for holding unauthorized talks with Shevardnadze.
