No Talking in Theaters: Theater patrons who have been annoyed by yakkers during films might appreciate a no-talking policy in effect at AMC multiplex theaters at Union Station in Washington. Talking patrons get two warnings, after which they are asked to leave--without a refund. According to the theaters’ general manager, Joe Turner, response to the two-month-old policy has been positive, with “30 to 40 calls and 10 letters expressing support,” and only one negative response. Turner told the Hollywood Reporter that he instituted the policy because every complaint letter the theaters received in the past year--all 10 of them, that is--were about talking during movies.
