The Matadors fell behind, 4-1, in the first game, 6-1, in the second and, 10-1, in the third. In the final game, CSUN recovered from a 13-7 deficit.
“We’ve got a good group of fighters out there,” Northridge Coach John Price said. “Unfortunately, they need to be down to get their focus in the right spot.”
Neil Coffman, a junior from Chatsworth High, had 23 kills for CSUN. In addition, freshman Coley Kyman of Reseda had 16 kills.
Raphael Tulino led the Matadors with 16 digs and added 14 kills.
