Flamemaster Corp., a Sun Valley maker of fire-retardant coatings and sealants, said its fiscal fourth-quarter profit tumbled 42% from a year earlier despite a 32% gain in revenue.
In the quarter that ended Sept. 30, Flamemaster’s profit fell to $78,151 from $134,837 a year earlier. Its revenue climbed to $1.22 million from $925,747. Flamemaster blamed the lower earnings on higher development and raw-materials costs, which were not entirely offset by higher prices for its products.
Flamemaster’s full-year profit fell 34% from the previous year, to $288,634 from $438,384, and its annual revenue rose 7% to $3.83 million from $3.58 million.
