Culver City : Plan for New Street OKd
The Redevelopment Agency gave initial approval on Monday to a new street connecting Jefferson and Sepulveda boulevards that would change the congested intersection of the two streets.
The 650-foot-long street, which would cut through the former Studio Drive-In lot east of the intersection, would eliminate left turns from southbound Sepulveda onto Jefferson and most right turns from westbound Jefferson onto Sepulveda, traffic consultant Art Kassan said.
The two intersections of Jefferson and Sepulveda boulevards and Sawtelle and Sepulveda boulevards would also be consolidated into a single, five-legged intersection, Kassan told the agency.
The agency will ask for design and construction proposals. The cost of the project is estimated to be about $900,000, and construction could start by January, 1991, City Engineer Jim Davis said.
