Dow Jones & Co.: The New York-based publisher of the Wall Street Journal and other financial information posted 1989 net income of $317 million, up 39% from 1988, on revenue of $1.69 billion, up 5.3% from the previous year. Excluding one-time gains, Dow Jones said its net income fell 4.6% for the year to $152.8 million. The firm attributed the profit decline to equity losses at its Telerate Inc. subsidiary and lower operating income at its business publications and community newspaper segments.
