NATION IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON, D.C. : More Study Urged on Weak Radiation

Low-level electromagnetic radiation generated by common household appliances, radar emitters and utility power lines requires further study because there is no evidence to dismiss the potential health risk, two researchers said in an article published in the journal Science. James C. Weaver of MIT and R. Dean Astumian of the National Institute of Standards and Technology examined the theory that low-level electrical fields do not endanger health because natural heat fluctuations within living cells are greater than disturbances caused by electromagnetic radiation.
