A suspected serial rapist who has been a fugitive for 10 years appears to be in the Los Angeles area, FBI officials said Tuesday.
Frank Everett Comstock Jr., 46, of Los Angeles, is believed to have raped five women since 1980. He was described by Lawrence G. Lawler, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Los Angeles office, as armed and dangerous.
FBI officials say they have information that Comstock is in the area but declined to elaborate.
FBI officials said Comstock is suspected of raping three women within a two-week period in the Los Angeles area in 1980, another woman in San Luis Obispo in 1988, and a fifth victim in Palm Springs last year.
Comstock, who is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 185 pounds, has a tattoo of a “Lucky 8-Ball” on his right forearm; “SNOOK” on his left triceps muscle, and a small tear drop tattoo under his left eye, FBI officials said. He recently has worked as a telephone solicitor under several aliases.
Any information on Comstock’s whereabouts should be directed to the FBI’s Los Angeles office at 477-6565.
