Violinist Is a Finalist in Music Center Contest

A 16-year-old Glendale resident and violinist has been named a finalist for instrumental music in The Music Center’s Spotlight Award Competition.
Michelle Kim, a student at Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences in Santa Monica, will compete against two other finalists March 5 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion for a $5,000 scholarship.
Judges for the competition include Henry Mancini, Richard and Lili Fini Zanuck, Joffrey Ballet Artistic Director Gerald Arpino and Los Angeles Philharmonic executive Ernest Fleischmann.
