BREA : Rubber Plant Fire Is Confined to Bin
- Share via
A small fire broke out Thursday at a rubber plant, but 15 firefighters extinguished the blaze in 40 minutes and no one was injured.
The fire broke out about 11:30 a.m. at Kirkhill Rubber Co., in the 300 block of East Cypress Street. Fire Capt. Hank Roemisch said the fire was confined to a bin that collects rubber dust particles. The bin apparently overheated and set the particles on fire, Roemisch said.
Damage was minimal because the fire was contained in the bin. The company manufactures a variety of rubber products for industrial use, Roemisch said.
