I note that your editorial implies that Americans who care deeply about the Chinese people regret this “unfortunate episode.”
You should know that as an old China hand I care deeply about China and heartily agree with Prof. Baum who stated that the failure to override “represents a victory of reason over emotion.” I am sure that many Americans agree.
