Jet lag may be USF’s sixth man. Loyola, which lost an overtime game, 148-141, to Louisiana State in Baton Rouge, La., on Saturday, returned to Los Angeles late Saturday evening and is playing its third game in four days. Hank Gathers has scored 44 and 48 points in the past two games, while the Lions have scored 150 and 141. USF, led by forward Joel DeBortoli, is the last WCC team to beat Loyola. The Dons upset the Lions, 123-109, last February.
