ROUNDUP : Palmdale Bounced From Golden Race

Canyon High eliminated Palmdale from the Golden League title race while forging a second-place tie with the Falcons with a 72-68 come-from-behind victory Tuesday night at Palmdale.
“This is a real big win for us, really big,” Canyon Coach Greg Hayes said. “I have chills.”
Canyon (17-6, 6-3) trailed, 66-58, but outscored Palmdale (14-10, 6-3), 14-2, in the final three minutes.
Guard Tom Boobar, who scored 13 points, made six of six free throws in the final two minutes. Forward Jon Civita, who scored 14 points to go with 12 rebounds and seven assists, added four points down the stretch.
Forward Eric Hines scored a career-high 19 points, including five three-point shots, to lead Palmdale. Guard John Johnson scored 17.
