Soul Honors: British R&B; group Soul II Soul tops the Soul Train Music Awards nominations announced Tuesday with nods in four out of 12 categories. The debut album “Keep On Movin’ ” will compete for best R&B;/urban contemporary album by a group, while the title song is nominated for best single and best song and the group itself--which will perform live on the March 14 awards telecast from the Shrine Auditorium--is up for best new artist. Quincy Jones, Janet Jackson, Luther Vandross, Bobby Brown and newcomer Eric Gable each grabbed three nominations.
