Minton, Angels Agree on 1 Year

Greg Minton, who had filed for free agency after the Angels declined to go to arbitration with him, will remain with the club this season. The 38-year-old right-hander agreed to a one-year contract Wednesday that will pay him $850,000 and contains several incentive clauses worth a potential $100,000.

Minton was 4-3 with eight saves and a 2.20 earned-run average in 62 relief appearances last season. He had filed for arbitration at $1,150,000, and the Angels had offered $780,000. He earned $630,000 in salary last season and $100,000 in bonuses.
