Pasadena : Zone Exemption Granted
The Board of Directors Tuesday approved an exemption from loading-zone requirements for the proposed Arroyo Cinema Plaza Project.
Developer George Krikorian had sought an exemption from a requirement for three loading spaces at his site at the southwest corner of Arroyo Parkway and Green Street. Instead, he proposed only one on-site space and another along Green Street.
Despite opposition from city Directors Kathryn Nack and Chris Holden, who were concerned that the street loading would interfere with traffic, the exemption was granted on condition that no loading occur during rush hours.
Krikorian is proposing a 2,100-seat multiscreen theater in a five-story, 79,510-square-foot complex. The $8.89-million project includes a city loan of $1.5 million.
