Rep. Anthony C. Beilenson (D-Los Angeles) will hold two community meetings this weekend, the first of eight such forums designed to seek comment from constituents and to tell them what the congressman is doing in Washington.
Steve Smith, a spokesman for Beilenson, said the first meeting will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at West Hollywood Elementary School, 970 N. Hammond St. The second will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at Castle Heights Elementary School, 9755 Cattaraugus Ave., Los Angeles.
Beilenson was first elected to Congress in 1976. His 23rd District stretches from West Hollywood through Beverly Hills and West Los Angeles and into the San Fernando Valley communities of Encino, Woodland Hills, Van Nuys, Reseda and Canoga Park.
Smith said the time and location of future meetings will be announced.
At each meeting, Beilenson plans to spend about 45 minutes describing what he is doing in Washington, then he will answer questions from the audience, Smith said.
