Comments on Superintendent Sought

Palos Verdes Peninsula residents will have a chance next week to voice their opinions on what type of person should be selected as the school district’s new superintendent.
But an appointment is necessary.
School Services of California Inc., the firm hired by the district to conduct the search for a superintendent, will listen to residents’ comments on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Valmonte Administration Center, 3801 Via La Salva, Palos Verdes Estates. Those interested must call Jesse Beaumont, the school board’s secretary, at 378-9966, to set up a time to come in.
The public comments will be used “to determine the desired profile for the new superintendent,” according to school board President Jack Bagdasar.
The new superintendent will replace Jack Price, who resigned last October after a long dispute with some residents, who accused him of mishandling district affairs. Wayne Butterbaugh is serving as acting superintendent.
