USC Track Pair to Compete at Indianapolis

Hurdler Robert Reading and long jumper Dietmar Haaf of USC will compete in the NCAA indoor track and field championships starting today at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis.
Reading, the NCAA outdoor hurdles champion in 1989, has the best indoor mark in the 60-meter hurdles among collegians this season at 7.01 seconds. Haaf, a transfer from the University of Stuttgart in West Germany, tops the college list with a jump of 26 feet 11 3/4 inches.
USC’s Michele Taylor will compete in the women’s 800 meters. UCLA’s entries are Brian Blutreich and Tracie Millett in the men’s and women’s shotput, respectively.
