SCC to Play Tuesday in NAIA Tournament

Southern California College will play Washburn, Kan., in the first round of the National Assn. of Intercollegiate Athletics basketball tournament Tuesday at Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo.
The Vanguards (25-8) are the 15th-seeded team in the tournament.
Washburn, which is unseeded, is 20-11.
If SCC wins, it will play the winner of the Philadelphia Pharmacy-Wisconsin Eau Claire game in the second round Thursday. Wisconsin Eau Claire is the second-seeded team in the 32-team tournament.
The Vanguards defeated Christian Heritage, 90-77, in the District 3 final Saturday to win its first district championship.
