Car Kills Man Trying to Pick Up Hubcap

A man was struck by a car and killed as he ran onto Roscoe Boulevard at Sunland Boulevard in Sun Valley to grab a hubcap, Los Angeles police said Sunday.
The man, who was not identified, was hit at 8:50 p.m. Saturday by a car driven by Steven Raymond Barnardo, 21, of Sun Valley, said Officer Dennis Smith of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Smith said the man was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, where he died. Smith said no charges will be filed against Barnardo.
