1 Dies, 1 Hurt When Car Rolls Over 4 Times

One person was killed and another was injured Sunday morning when they were thrown from a car as it rolled over four times in an accident near Palmdale, authorities said.

Rosendo Morales, 24, of Palmdale was driving east on Palmdale Boulevard near 105th Street East at 9:30 a.m. when the car he was driving hit a roadside berm and went out of control, Officer Robert Bruce of the California Highway Patrol said.

Morales and his passenger, Jesus Perez, 22, of Palmdale, were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle, Bruce said. Morales died at the scene from his injuries. Perez suffered minor injuries and was taken to Palmdale Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Bruce said investigators believe Morales was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
